An SRTF Health Project Delivers Medication in Northern Aleppo

Türkiye – Sunday, 19 November 2023 – The SRTF announced the delivery of medication to the Implementing Entity (IE) under its Health project; “Rehabilitation of a Medical Facility and Support for Two Health Facilities in Northern Aleppo”.

The medication was procured and delivered using the additional EUR 1.5 million allocated under the Emergency Response Plan (Phase II), which was launched in light of the earthquake that hit Northern Syria earlier this year, to support the provision of emergency medicine, medical consumables, orthopaedic implants, accessories and the running costs of staff working at the relevant facilities. The IE will start distributing the delivery to the three facilities originally supported under this project as well as other facilities in the area providing services to individuals affected by the earthquake.

This contributes to the overall aim of this project of providing improved essential health services at affordable prices for residents in the areas of operation while providing job opportunities for medical personnel. Such efforts will help address the urgent needs of the affected population at a larger scale, increase people’s access to healthcare, reduce the risk of further health complications and spread of diseases and improve the health and living conditions and well-being of community members.

With a budget of EUR 3.3 million, this project will directly benefit around 60,000 patients through surgical and non-surgical services, over 18 months which include a six-month period of post-implementation monitoring and evaluation. An additional 335,000 individuals will benefit indirectly from the overall improved health conditions in the targeted communities.
