Strengthening Agriculture and Livelihoods in Syria: 753 Farmers Receive Agricultural Support

Damascus - Sunday, 11 January 2026 – The Syria Recovery Trust Fund (SRTF) has announced the delivery and distribution of 753 sets of personal protective equipment (PPE) and pump sprayers to farmers, along with ancillary farming equipment to four Farmers’ Cooperatives across four communities. This initiative is part of SRTF’s agriculture project, “Agricultural Support to Farmers in Ar-Raqqa and Deir-ez-Zor Governorates – Phase IX.”

The PPE sets and pump sprayers were provided to 753 farmers to ensure their safety while applying agrochemicals to crops. The ancillary equipment delivered to the Cooperatives include disc plows, chisel cultivators, 4-row ridgers, tipping trailers, seed drills, fertiliser and seed spreaders, boom sprayers, and a set of spare parts for these items.

These interventions aim to enhance crop production and farming operations, improving productivity, efficiency, and sustainability in the agricultural sector. By supporting local farmers, the project also contributes to regional food security and community stability, as livelihoods are strengthened and restored.

With a total budget of EUR 1.82 million, the project will directly benefit 753 farmers and indirectly support thousands of households through improved food security and living conditions.
