The SRTF Concludes Wheat Support Project in North Aleppo

Aleppo - Tuesday, 07 October 2025 - The Syria Recovery Trust Fund (SRTF) is pleased to announce the successful completion of its agriculture project titled Support Farmers for the Production of Wheat Crop in North Aleppo.”

Through this project, the SRTF supported 1,000 wheat farmers by providing essential agricultural inputs, including certified wheat seeds, fertilisers, pesticides, and polypropylene sacks, in addition to training sessions on best agricultural practices. These interventions aimed to enhance both the quantity and quality of wheat production and increase its availability in local markets.

A female beneficiary farmer expressed her appreciation, stating:

“The support from the SRTF prevented me from borrowing from wholesale traders. I was able to meet my family’s needs thanks to the provision of seeds and fertilisers.”

Similarly, a male beneficiary shared:

“By providing the funds needed for wheat cultivation, the project enabled me to allocate my own resources to cover essential household needs, which is very important for me and my family.”

With a total budget of EUR 2.07 million and a duration of 24 months, the project directly benefited 1,000 farmers and indirectly supported around 5,000 family members through improved livelihoods and income stability. The project also contributed to enhancing food security across the targeted areas in North Aleppo.
