Comprehensive Support Initiative for Two Dialysis Units through Operational and Medical Assistance in Deir-ez-Zor Governorates – Phase IV

Based on the successes of its previous phases, the SRTF in coordination with an Implmeneting Partner (IP), launched Phase IV of the “Comprehensive Support Initiative for Two Dialysis Units through Operational and Medical Assistance in Deir-ez-Zor Governorates” project.  

Through this project, the SRTF aims to continue addressing critical gaps within the health care system, by continuing the provision of improved and high-quality support and services in the two already-supported and existing haemodialysis units in Deir-ez-Zor Governorate, Northeast Syria. 

The project is expected to: 

• Fully support the two existing haemodialysis units through the provision of high-quality health care services. 

• Improve overall health conditions in Deir-ez-Zor. 

This will be done by implementing the following activities: 

• Supplying essential medication, medical supplies and consumables, for End-Stage Renal Disease patients. 

• Procuring and providing haemodialysis kits. 

• Providing and training health care professionals and medical staff to ensure the effective delivery of services and treatments. 

• Covering all operational costs. 

• Providing free-of-charge 7,488 haemodialysis sessions to 106 patients in the two units. 

This is anticipated to: 

• Ensure the effective delivery of high-quality routine haemodialysis sessions and services. 

• Strengthen and reinforce the existing health care infrastructure by sustaining critical medical services and generating employment opportunities.. 

• Create job opportunities and improve livelihoods. 

• Revive the local economy and local markets. 

With a budget of around EUR 753,194, this project is expected to directly benefit 106 patients and their 530 family members indirectly over a period of 12 months. A total of around 229,140 individuals in surrounding communities will also benefit from the overall improved health conditions in the area.
