The SRTF Launches Phase IV of Dialysis Support Project in Deir-ez-Zor

Damascus – Wednesday, 10 September 2025 – The SRTF is proud to announce the launch of Phase IV of the “Comprehensive Support Initiative for Two Dialysis Units through Operational and Medical Assistance in Deir-ez-Zor Governorate” in Northeast Syria.

This new phase will ensure the continued provision of high-quality dialysis services by maintaining medical staff, covering operational costs, and supplying essential medications, consumables, and dialysis kits. By sustaining these two haemodialysis units, the project secures free, life-saving treatment for vulnerable patients while strengthening the local healthcare system, creating employment opportunities, and supporting local health authorities.

Beyond immediate care, the initiative also fosters long-term sustainability by training medical personnel, generating incomes for staff, and relieving patients of financial burdens associated with their treatment.

With a budget of EUR 753,194, Phase IV will run for 12 months and directly support 106 patients and their 530 family members, while indirectly improving the overall health conditions of an estimated 229,140 residents, including both host community members and internally displaced people.

Commenting on the project, the SRTF Director General Hani Khabbaz stated: “This initiative is a clear reflection of our commitment to strengthening vital healthcare services in Syria. By ensuring patients have access to free and reliable dialysis treatment, we are not only saving lives but also supporting local systems, empowering medical staff, and easing the financial strain on vulnerable families. This phase marks another important step toward resilience and sustainability in the healthcare sector.”
