Kidney Dialysis Machines Installed and Operational in Two Health Centres in Deir-ez-Zor

Damascus – Thursday, 14 May 2026  – The Syria Recovery Trust Fund (SRTF) announced the delivery and operation of four kidney dialysis machines under Phase IV of the health project, “Comprehensive Support Initiative for Abu Hamam and Kisreh Dialysis Units through Operational and Medical Assistance in Deir-ez-Zor Governorate”.

Implemented in partnership with the Fund’s Implementing Partner, MEHAD, two machines were installed at each of the Abu Hamam and Kisreh Dialysis centres, supporting the operation of the service and replacing the out-of-service equipment to enhance the centres’ operational capacity and improve the quality and efficiency of treatment provided to patients in need.

In the meantime, the project continues to provide the health services, including medical consumables, medications and operational cost support to sustain the delivery of lifesaving services, while continuing the delivery of training sessions to medical personnel to ensure long-term sustainability. And through the provision of solar power solutions for both centres through another of the Fund’s projects, service delivery is guaranteed to continue without any interruptions and at reduced costs.

This phase will continue the provision of high-quality haemodialysis sessions, ensuring patients receive free, lifesaving treatment, while addressing the gaps in the healthcare system, improving livelihoods through employment opportunities and increasing the capacity of local health authorities. It is noteworthy that the SRTF, starting from the first phase of the intervention, has helped provide over 21,000 Haemodialysis Sessions to hundreds of patients in need.

With a budget of EUR 753,194, the overall health conditions of at least 229,140 people, including internally displaced people and host community members, will indirectly improve as a result.
