The SRTF Successfully Concludes Three Projects Benefitting Over 57,000 People in Northern Aleppo

Damascus – Wednesday, 8 April 2026 – The Syria Recovery Trust Fund (SRTF) is pleased to announce the successful closure of three projects in Northern Aleppo; supporting health services, agricultural recovery and food security, delivering tangible benefits to 57,272 people per month in targeted communities and strengthening local resilience.

Through its health project implemented in partnership with the Aleppo Health Directorate (AHD), the SRTF ensured uninterrupted operations at a Hospital, a Burns Treatment Centre, a Health Centre, and an Epidemiological Laboratory, in addition to the regional ambulance referral network. By covering staff salaries and essential operational costs, health services continued without disruption, enabling 55,272 people to access emergency care, surgical interventions, outpatient consultations, burn treatment, laboratory diagnostics, and ambulance referrals. The project also supported the sustainability of the local health system by retaining qualified medical and administrative staff serving displaced and host communities.

In the agriculture sector, the SRTF supported 2,000 wheat farmers through the project “Support Farmers for Wheat Crop Production in North Aleppo – Phase III”, implemented with the Aleppo Agriculture Directorate (AAD). The intervention enabled the cultivation of 4,000 hectares of wheat and the production of 12,018 MT, contributing to improved food security and strengthened livelihoods. Farmers received certified seeds, fertilisers, harvesting equipment, and technical training on climate-smart agricultural practices.

Complementary agricultural support further enhanced local production capacities by providing farmers with quality inputs and modern farming guidance, helping restore income opportunities and reinforce community recovery in conflict-affected areas.

Eng. Hani Khabbaz, Director General of the SRTF, stated: We continue to be recharged with confidence and motivation as we witness the success and impact of our projects.  By sustaining health services and supporting farmers to restore production and livelihoods, the SRTF continues to contribute to stability and recovery in Northern Aleppo.”

The successful completion of these projects reflects the SRTF’s continued commitment to restoring essential services, strengthening local institutions, and advancing sustainable recovery efforts across Syria.
