An Agriculture Project Completes the Delivery and Distribution of Inputs and Equipment in Northern Aleppo

Aleppo – Thursday, 26 February 2026 – A total of 1,000 insect trap kits, 600 tonnes of organic fertilisers, and office furniture were delivered and distributed under the agriculture project, “Supporting Olive Farmers in Northern Aleppo”.

The fertilisers and insect traps were distributed to 1,000 farmers benefitting from the project. Each farmer received 600 kilograms (kg) of organic fertiliser and one insect trap targeting the olive fruit fly, as part of an Integrated Pest Management (IPM) programme aimed at improving crop protection and reducing pest-related losses.

Office furniture was delivered to three Olive Farmers Associations previously established to support local olive producers. The furniture package included desks, meeting tables, cabinets, chairs, whiteboards with markers, gas heaters, kitchen sets, solar power equipment, tubular flooded batteries, and beds. This support will help strengthen the operational capacity of the associations and improve services provided to farmers.

In addition, 1,000 soil samples were collected and analysed to assess soil conditions and provide tailored recommendations. This initiative aims to enhance soil fertility, increase productivity, and improve the overall quality of olive production in the targeted areas.

Abdelqader, a beneficiary farmer, told us: “We previously received baskets, pruning and picking kits, insecticides, a ladder and packing bags, and now we received 600 kg of fertilisers each. Using these fertilisers will help us in increasing productivity and our harvest, thereby, improving our income and livelihoods. So instead of selling five tanks [of oil] I will sell 25, which will benefit me a great deal. We hope such type of support will continue.”

Other deliveries are expected to take place soon, including the delivery and distribution of fertilisers.

This project has a budget of EUR 1.89 million and benefits 1,000 farmers directly and their 5,000 family members indirectly.
