Farmers in Ar-Raqqa and Deir-ez-Zor Receive Technical Training Sessions to Improve Skills and Knowledge

Damascus – Thursday, 23 April 2026 – The SRTF is pleased to announce that Phase IX of the SRTF’s Agriculture project, “Agricultural Support to Farmers in Ar-Raqqa and Deir-ez-Zor Governments” has completed the delivery of technical training sessions to 698 farmers from four Farmers’ Cooperatives.

The technical training sessions were delivered to farmers by trained agriculture engineers on key agricultural topics including Climate-Smart Agriculture, modern irrigation methods, land management practices and the safe use of pesticides and fertilisers.

These sessions aim to improve farmers’ awareness and knowledge of key agricultural practices, contributing to the project’s overall objectives of increasing crop production and farmers’ productivity, improving environmental sustainability and ensuring long-term resilience. This will inadvertently enhance regional food security and stability within communities as farmers improve their livelihoods.

This project has a budget of EUR 1.82 million and will directly benefit 753 farmers and support thousands of households indirectly through improved food security and living conditions.
