Northern Syria’s Wheat Harvest Season Heralds an Excellent Harvest, Bringing New Gains for Farmers
Syria – Wednesday, 18 June 2025 – The SRTF announces the beginning of the wheat harvest season for supported farmers across Northern Syria.
A total of 2,000 farmers in Northern Aleppo and 1,127 farmers in Ar-Raqqa and Deir-ez-Zor governorates have begun harvesting their wheat crops.
This season, the supported harvested area covers 7,000 hectares (HA), with an average expected yield of approximately 3.3 metric tonnes (MT) per HA, leading to an estimated total production of 23,000 MT of wheat for the farmers that are receiving support.
Moreover, the Fund has so far implemented a total of 11 phases of the comprehensive support to wheat farmers, supporting over 15,000 wheat farmers across Northern Syria, who planted over 42,000 HA of land. These farmers’ total yield, including this year’s estimated harvest, will reach over an impressive 350,000 MT of high-quality wheat.
