AN SRTF Water Intervention Announces Significant Progress in Civil Works in Ar-Raqqa Governorate

Ar-Raqqa- Thursday, 13 January 2022 – The SRTF intervention: “Rehabilitation of Three Water Pump Stations in Ar-Raqqa Governorate” launched earlier in the year with the aim to provide safe and reliable access to drinking and irrigation water reported significant progress with civil works, today.

 

The intervention activities are on track with ongoing construction works of one administration building (which will be used by operators and/or watchmen to stay onsite and supervise the station); repairing water filtration tanks in a one water station, as well as delivering and connecting three kilometers long HDPE pipes activities which started on a second water station site and is ongoing. The pipes will be used to connect the new water pumping station with the existing water pipe network in the city

 

Upon the completion of the rehabilitation works, the EUR 1.7 million intervention is expected to directly benefit an estimated 207,536 individuals in the areas served by the three pump stations in Ar-Raqqa Governorate.
