Provision of Primary Health Care Services in Deir-ez-Zor Governorate – Phase V

Building on the success of its previous phases, the Syria Recovery Trust Fund launched Phase V of the “Provision of Primary Health Care Services in Deir-ez-Zor Governorate”. This project aims to strengthen and continue the operations of two primary health care centres (PHCCs) and one mobile clinic, and the distribution of medication and non-communicable diseases (NCS) kits to five PHCCs in Deir-ez-Zor Governorate.

The project is expected to:

  • Improve and continue the provision of health care services in two PHCCs and one mobile clinic.
  • Improve patients’ wellbeing and health conditions.
  • Strengthen the health sector in Deir-ez-Zor Governorate.

This will be done by implementing the following activities:

  • Delivering health care services at the two PHCCs and one mobile clinic, including maternal and child health, communicable disease prevention and management, non-communicable disease care, mental health services, nutrition services and critical support services such as diagnostic laboratory tests.
  • Supplying medication.
  • Distributing 10 NCD kits to five health facilities (two kits per facility).
  • Providing community health awareness sessions to community members.
  • Providing psychosocial support sessions to patients.

This is anticipated to:

  • Improve access to health care services.
  • Enhance preventive and community health interventions.
  • Strengthen the nutritional and psychosocial wellbeing of patients and communities in general.
  • Improve access to essential medication for NCDs.

With a budget of EUR 1.24 million, the project is expected to directly benefit 113,895 patients, their families (569,475 people), and indirectly reach over 937,271 community members, over a duration of 12 months.
