The SRTF Announces Approval of Two New Projects Across Syria

Damascus – Tuesday, 28 July 2026 – The Syria Recovery Trust Fund (SRTF) is pleased to announce the approval of two new recovery projects: a multi-sector initiative in Jisr Ash-Shughur and an agriculture project in Deir-ez-Zor and Ar-Raqqa Governorates. Together, these projects reaffirm the SRTF’s commitment to supporting sustainable recovery, strengthening essential services, and improving livelihoods across Syria.

The " Multi-Sector Rehabilitation Initiative in Jisr Ash-Shughur – Phase II " has been developed in coordination with the Higher Commission for "Syria without Camps". With a budget of EUR 1.96 million, the 12-month project aims to create the conditions for safe and dignified returns by restoring essential infrastructure and strengthening community resilience. Activities include the rehabilitation of 250 damaged homes, three schools, and three water pumping stations, alongside the provision of Cash-for-Work opportunities for 200 individuals and household kitchen garden support for 250 families. The project is expected to improve livelihoods, enhance food security, expand access to education and water services, and contribute to the implementation of the "Syria without Camps" vision.

The second project, "Agriculture Support to Farmers in Ar-Raqqa and Deir-ez-Zor Governorates – Phase X", will continue the SRTF’s longstanding support to Syria’s agricultural sector. With a budget of EUR 1.90 million and a duration of 12 months, the project will strengthen wheat production and support Farmers' Cooperatives through the provision of certified wheat seeds, fertilisers, agrochemicals, and agricultural machinery. The intervention is expected to benefit 1,118 farmers from a number of cooperatives across the two governorates, contributing to improved agricultural productivity, enhanced food security, and greater community resilience.

Commenting on the approval of the two projects, SRTF Director General Eng. Hani Khabbaz said: "The approval of these projects reflects the SRTF's continued commitment to supporting Syria's recovery through interventions that address communities' most pressing needs. By working closely with the relevant government authorities and our implementing partners, we aim to restore essential services, strengthen livelihoods, and create sustainable opportunities for families to rebuild their lives. These projects represent another important step towards fostering resilience, promoting food security, and supporting long-term recovery across Syria."
