Support to Five Primary Health Care Clinics and Two Dialysis Centers in Deir ez-Zor and Ar-Raqqa Governorates

In response to the high need for improved healthcare services in Northeast Syria, the SRTF will fund five primary health care centres and two dialysis centres in Ar-Raqqa and Deir ez-Zor who are currently in need for support because of shortage in medications and consumables that are hindering their operation.

Ultimately, the intervention aims to contribute towards enhancing access to better health services in Northeast Syria by improving the services and the synergy between the different partners who work in the health sector to the direct benefit of 171,360 patients living in the targeted areas.

The SRTF’s support for this intervention has two main goals:

  1. To increase access to primary health care services by supporting five primary health care centres in Ar-Raqqa and Deir ez-Zor governorates with medication, consumables and needed equipment.

As a result, the five primary health care centres will be fully equipped and provided with medication and consumables that are procured and stored using the highest standards. To ensure that, the intervention will recruit staff for a warehouse that will fully equipped be to store all medication and consumables shipments under the highest standards.

  1. To increase access to the quality of haemodialysis care services by supporting two dialysis units at two different locations with medication, dialysis kits and equipment.

To ensure that, the two haemodialysis units will be well equipped and provided with all needed medication and dialysis kits. The intervention will secure provisions of primary health care centres according to essential health service package (EHSP) and provisions of Haemodialysis Services to patients with end-stage renal diseases (ESRD). The roles and responsibilities for each of all relevant partners / implementing partners will be made clear as part of signed agreements. As a result of this intervention, the two supported dialysis centres are expected to carry out 4,752 weekly sessions for patients.

In addition to the direct beneficiaries 171,360, the eight-month, EUR 1.3 million budget intervention will benefit 984,798 patients indirectly.
