The Republic of Kosovo Contributes USD 100,000 to the SRTF Stabilisation Efforts in Northeast Syria

Damascus - Sunday, 9 November 2025 – The Syria Recovery Trust Fund (SRTF) announced today a contribution of USD 100,000 by the Republic of Kosovo to support communities of return under the SRTF’s Stabilisation efforts in Northeast Syria.

This timely support will contribute to the ongoing home rehabilitation project, assisting host communities and returnees, particularly those from Al-Hol Camp, to resettle, rebuild, and reintegrate into their communities with dignity. It will support efforts to restore homes, rebuild basic infrastructure, promote farming, and strengthen livelihoods, creating safe and sustainable conditions for families returning to Northeast Syria for a fresh start and a hopeful, secure future.

On behalf of the Government of the Republic of Kosovo, H.E. Acting Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Foreign Affairs, Ms Donika Gërvalla-Schwarz, highlighted the importance of this assistance to those returning from displacement: "Kosovo stands in solidarity with the people of Syria during these challenging times. We recognise the urgent need to support returnees, especially families returning from Al-Hol Camp, in their efforts to reintegrate safely and sustainably into their communities. Through our partnership with the SRTF, we are confident that Kosovo’s contribution will help foster stability, resilience, and dignity for those most in need.”

Expressing his gratitude, SRTF Director General Eng. Hani Khabbaz stated: "We extend our sincere appreciation to the Government of the Republic of Kosovo for its generous contribution to the SRTF. This support will have a direct and meaningful impact on the lives of returnees from Al-Hol Camp in Northeast Syria, particularly through shelter rehabilitation and livelihood initiatives. Such assistance is critical to reducing the vulnerabilities of displaced families and providing them with the stability, hope, and opportunities they need to rebuild their lives with dignity."

This new support underscores the commitment of the Republic of Kosovo in international relief and stabilisation efforts, while reinforcing the SRTF’s mission to provide reliable and impactful assistance to communities rebuilding their lives after liberation in Syria.
