Germany Announces a New Contribution of EUR 4 Million to the SRTF
Damascus – Saturday, 1 November 2025 – The SRTF is thrilled to announce a new planned contribution of EUR 4 million, announced by Germany during the latest Steering Board meeting that was held in Damascus, Syria.
This will mark Germany’s 10th contribution to the SRTF since its inception, bringing its total support to around EUR 110.70 million.
Such a substantial contribution brings the total contributions by all 12 donors to an estimated EUR 378.07 million, maintaining Germany’s position as the SRTF’s largest financial donor. With this funding, Germany supports the Fund’s expansion across Syria, enabling it to boost its operations across several sectors, ensuring sustainability within households and communities.
H.E. Dr. Johann Wadephul, Federal Minister for Foreign Affairs said: “Germany will increase its contribution as the largest donor to the capable Reconstruction Fund for Syria by four million euros. This is intended to enable the fund to improve life for people in Syria and also support those who want to return. With its tenth payment, Germany has thus deposited a total of 110 million euros in the Fund.”
The SRTF Director General, Eng. Hani Khabbaz expressed his gratitude, saying: “The SRTF extends its sincere gratitude to the Government of Germany for yet another generous contribution, received at a pivotal moment in Syria’s history. Germany’s continued support underscores its steadfast confidence in and commitment to the Fund’s mission of supporting recovery efforts and fostering stability across Syria. This contribution will enable the SRTF to expand its operations and deliver essential assistance to even more Syrians in need throughout the country.”
