An SRTF Supported Blood Bank and a Central Lab Launch Operations in Deir ez-Zor

Deir ez-Zor - Wednesday 2 February, 2022 - The SRTF’s health intervention “Provision of Primary and Specialised medical Services in Deir ez-Zor Governorate” announced the start of its medical services in two medical facilities supported under this intervention: namely the Blood Bank and the Central Lab. The two medical facilities will be offering services such as collecting and distributing blood and its derivatives to health facilities in Deir-ez-Zor as needed.

 

As for the lab, it is fully equipped to offer various laboratory tests. With a total budget of EUR 2.5 million and a duration of eight months, this intervention will focus on five main activities that address critical issues in the health sector in Deir ez-Zor namely, the provision of primary healthcare services, supporting a medical laboratory supporting a blood bank, supporting the Thalassemia center, personal protective equipment (PPE) for schools. In total, this intervention is expected to benefit around 202,124 people in addition to over one million beneficiaries in Deir ez-Zor indirectly.
