Restoring Essential Healthcare Services for Over 52,000 People in Deir ez-Zor City
Damascus - Thursday, 2 April 2026 - The Syria Recovery Trust Fund (SRTF) is pleased to announce the approval of a new project aimed at strengthening healthcare services in Deir ez-Zor.
The project, “Restoration of Essential Hospital Services and Maternal & Child Health Care in Deir-ez-Zor City” will support the recovery of the health system through the rehabilitation and reactivation of two key public facilities: Deir-ez-Zor National Hospital, the governorate’s main referral hospital, and the Maternity and Paediatric Hospital, which has remained non-functional due to extensive damage.
The project has been developed in close coordination with the Syrian Ministry of Health, ensuring alignment with national priorities and reinforcing a coordinated approach to restoring essential public services.
With a budget of EUR 1.29 million, the intervention aims to restore safe, accessible, and functional public healthcare services, benefiting more than 52,000 patients.
