An Education Project Starts Rehabilitation Works in Dara’a
Dara’a - Monday, 2 March 2026 – The SRTF commences rehabilitation works in six schools under the Education project, “Rehabilitation of Schools in Dara’a Governorate”.
The rehabilitation works will be carried out in six schools across four locations in Dara’a Governorate, following the clearance of off-site debris and the demolition of unsafe or unwanted structures.
The scope of work includes comprehensive civil repairs; tiling and painting; the construction or refurbishment of playgrounds; classroom rehabilitation and furnishing; reconstruction of windows and doors; construction or upgrading of sanitary facilities; installation of solar energy panels and water tanks; upgrading of electrical systems; and rehabilitation of school fencing, among other improvements.
Implemented in collaboration with the Fund’s partner, Action for Humanity, the project aims to create safe, functional, and inclusive learning environments. By upgrading school infrastructure, it seeks to increase student enrolment, improve working conditions and employment opportunities for education personnel, and strengthen the overall education sector in the area.
With a total budget of approximately EUR 959,212, the project is expected to directly benefit 2,296 students and 60 staff members, and indirectly support an estimated 11,780 family members by providing safer and more conducive learning spaces. In the longer term, improved and sustainable educational facilities are expected to contribute to enhanced social cohesion, benefitting approximately 111,700 residents in surrounding communities.
