Clean Energy Supporting Essential Healthcare Services in Aleppo
Aleppo – Monday, 26 January 2026 – The SRTF announced the successful delivery and installation of solar photovoltaic (PV) systems in four of the 29 health facilities supported under its Electricity Project, “Installation of Solar Photovoltaic (PV) Systems to Operate Health Facilities in Northern Aleppo”.
The installed systems, with capacities ranging from 10 to 15 kilowatts (kW), will provide a reliable source of electricity to the health facilities, supporting uninterrupted daily operations while significantly reducing operational costs.
In parallel, specialised training sessions have been provided to designated focal points on the operation and maintenance of the solar systems. These efforts contribute to the project’s overarching goal of strengthening the healthcare system by promoting the adoption of renewable energy solutions, enhancing technical capacity, and raising awareness among key stakeholders about the importance of safe and sustainable energy use.
With a total budget of approximately EUR 1.4 million and an implementation period of 21 months, the project is expected to directly benefit at least 462,150 individuals. In addition, an estimated 968,000 residents and internally displaced persons (IDPs) living in surrounding communities are expected to benefit indirectly from improved access to essential healthcare services delivered in a more efficient and sustainable manner.
