Phase Five of the SRTF Food Security Project Receives its First Lot of Soft Wheat

Turkey – Wednesday, November 24, 2021 – The SRTF’s food security project, “Complementary Project for Enhancing Food Security in the North of Aleppo Governorate – Phase V” received its first delivery of soft wheat consisting of 424 metric tons (MT) today. The delivery is part of a total contracted quantity of 18,000 MT which will continue to be delivered in the coming period under this phase.  

 

The wheat will be milled and used for making bread at affordable prices, and with that it will significantly impact all people's lives in the project area, women and children included.  

With a budget of EUR 7.8 million, this eight-month project will positively impact the lives of an estimated 375,000 beneficiaries on a monthly basis, for the duration of its life cycle.
