The SRTF Delivers Polypropylene Sacks to a Food Security Project in Northern Aleppo

Türkiye – Sunday, October 24, 2021- The SRTF announced the first delivery under phase five of its food security project, “Complementary Project for Enhancing Food Security in the North of Aleppo Governorate”. The delivery consisted of 550,000 polypropylene (PP) sacks where 150,000 PP sacks will be distributed to farmers to pack the harvested wheat, while 400,000 PP sacks will be used to pack milled flour from three operational mills.

 

Phase fives of this project builds on progress made under the previous phases with the aim to replenish the supply of soft wheat and procure additional bakery equipment. It will contribute to the sustained availability of flour to produce affordable bread for the targeted community.

 

With a budget of EUR 7.8 million, it is estimated that this project will positively impact 375,000 beneficiaries every day for eight months who will benefit from its planned activities.
