Emergency Intervention in Deir Ez-Zor Begins Rehabilitation Works for COVID-19 Hospital

Deir Ez-Zor – Tuesday, February 2, 2021 – Today, the SRTF’s intervention, “Emergency Response for COVID-19 in Deir Ez-Zor”, began rehabilitation works in preparation for the COVID-19 specialized center in Deir Ez-Zor. In addition to these works, this intervention received a shipment of medical equipment and some office equipment. The equipment will be used at the SRTF-funded COVID-19 hospital in Deir Ez-Zor. The delivered items included pulse oximeters, nebulizers, infrared thermometers, stethoscopes, X-ray photo readers, and more. The project is expecting additional medical and non-medical equipment in the coming weeks.

 

This emergency intervention aims to combat the spread of COVID-19 in Deir Ez-Zor and provide the necessary structures to ensure the health and safety of the targeted population. With a budget of EUR 1.7 million, the intervention’s treatment center will be able to accommodate 1,120 patients at any given time. In addition, around 630,000 people will indirectly benefit from this intervention’s planned activities, while around 122 health personnel will receive COVID-19 training and salaries.
