The SRTF Opens the Doors of a New Bakery in Northern Aleppo

Turkey – Wednesday, 16th September 2020 – The SRTF announced the grand opening of a new bakery in Northern Aleppo as part of its project “Complementary Project for Enhancing Food Security in the Aleppo Governorate”. This new bakery has a bread production capacity of 7,000 loaves per hour. This is the third and last bakery to be built under this project, which aims to secure bread, an essential and staple food, at affordable prices in the targeted communities.

 

Since its launch, this project has made significant progress with various deliveries and civil works activities that have resulted in the inauguration of one flour mill and three, now operational, bakeries serving the targeted communities.

 

Provided with a budget of EUR 5.1 million and an 18-month duration, this food security project is expected to boost the local economy and increase bread availability and stabilize and/or reduce bread prices for at least 90,000 persons per day.
