The SRTF Inaugurates a Bakery in Northern Aleppo

Turkey- Wednesday, 22nd April 2020 – The SRTF announced the launch of a new bakery in Northern Aleppo as part of its project: “Complementary Project for Enhancing Food Security in Aleppo Governorate”. With a full capacity of 7,000 bread loafs /hour, this bakery is one of three planned bakeries under the same project that aims to secure bread - an essential and staple food - at affordable prices in the targeted areas for years to come. 

 

The two other bakeries that were delivered and currently being installed have the same production capacity of about 70,000 loaf per day which are about 7,000 bundles of bread per day and are expected to be fully operational after installation works are completed soon.

 

With a budget of EUR 5.1 million, the project aims to tackle food insecurity caused by the shortages of supplies in northern Aleppo countryside. With approximately 90,000 beneficiaries, the project will increase bread production, reduce bread prices for beneficiaries and is expected to boost the local economy in the targeted areas of the governorate.
