Türkiye – Thursday, 23rd January 2020- The Syria Recovery Trust Fund (SRTF) announced the opening of a health center in northern Aleppo today after completing rehabilitation and expansion works which were implemented as part of the SRTF - funded project: "Supporting Health Services in the North Aleppo Countryside".  About 37,500 patients are expected to directly benefit from the improved services at the health center.

The SRTF completed the rehabilitation and expansion process of the health center, which was previously targeted directly and severely damaged. As part of the civil works, the original building restored and expanded by 60% of the original center area. Six additional rooms were added in the new area, including: a pediatric clinic, a gynecological clinic, an internal medicine clinic, a laboratory, a pharmacy and a warehouse. The health center was also equipped with an ultrasound (ECO, eCG) and a wide range of medicines that included more than 200 variety of drugs, enough to meet the needs of patients for more than a year. Furthermore, and under the same project, two more health clinics are undergoing rehabilitation works and are expected to be completed in the near future.

With a total budget of EUR 3.4 million, around 80,000 patients are expected to be direct beneficiaries from this project, and more than 400,000 people to benefit indirectly as a result of the upgrading of health services for the inhabitants living in the targeted area.
