France Contributes EUR 5 Million to the SRTF’s Stabilization Program
Amman – Sunday, 20th October 2019 – The Syria Recovery Trust Fund (SRTF) announced that it has received an additional contribution of Euro 5 million from France today. The fresh funds raise the total amount of paid contributions by France to the initial resources of the SRTF, since its establishment to Euro 25 million. The latest amount will be allocated to the SRTF’s “Filling the Void” stabilization program which now stands at a total of EUR 39 million.
The SRTF Director-General, Eng. Hani Khabbaz released a statement on this occasions saying: “We are grateful to receive an additional contribution from France which clearly reflects confidence in the SRTF as an effective mechanism to channel donor funding for stabilization efforts in Syria. The results of the SRTF stabilization interventions in the past two years in particular, speak for themselves in terms of positive impact on the lives of people benefiting from the SRTF’s interventions in various sectors.”
With France’s latest contribution, the total amount of paid contributions from all 12 SRTF donor and member countries rises to approximately EUR 226,44 million.
The other donor countries are Germany, United Arab Emirates, United States of America, Denmark, Sweden, Finland, Japan, United Kingdom, Netherlands, Kuwait and Italy. Türkiye and Jordan are also members and host countries of the SRTF.
