The SRTF Delivers a Mobile Flour Mill to Ensure Bread Availability in Aleppo Governorate
Turkey – Tuesday, 28 November 2017 – The SRTF Management Unit (MU) delivered a mobile flour mill to the implementing entity in northern countryside of Aleppo Governorate as part of its “Enhancing food security of Aleppo and Idleb Governorates” project today. The mill will ensure a continued supply of wheat flour to local bakeries in the project’s targeted areas.
The project seeks to address the current food insecurity in the two governorates by providing fixed and mobile milling that ensure the availability of flour to local bakeries.
Worth approximately EUR 13.7 million, the project is also addressing the problem of low quality fuel affecting the functioning of electricity generators of the installed mills to avoid interruption of their power supply. The project is expected to secure the availability of bread at affordable prices for the daily consumption of some 2 million beneficiaries.
