The SRTF Delivers Inputs for its Wheat Seeds Multiplication Project in Three Governorates

Turkey – Saturday, 15 July 2017 – The SRTF Management Unit delivered the first part of a large quantity of wheat hessian sacks to the Implementing Entity (IE), of its "Reestablishing Seed Production and Multiplication Programmes in Aleppo, Idleb, and Hama Governorates" project today. The delivery took place at zero point on the Turkish-Syrian border in coordination with the Turkish authorities.
The delivery included amount of 120.000 sacks to be used by local farmers in Aleppo, Idleb and Hama Governorates for packing, transporting and storing their harvested grains. The delivered quantity is one of several deliveries under this project, which aims to address a series of problems facing the agricultural sector and to protect the local wheat and other grain harvests in the rural areas of the three governorates.


Overall, the project is expected to improve the life quality of people in the targeted areas by improving food availability. The project also seeks to address the lack of reliable equipment, consumables and logistics to the benefit of about 9.250 inhabitants of the targeted governorates. In addition, it will strengthen staff management and improve employment conditions in the GOSMF.
