A Health Project in Ar-Raqqa and Deir-ez-Zor Governorates Successfully Completes All Planned Activities

Damascus – Sunday, 30 August 2026 – The SRTF is delighted to announce the successful completion of Phase III of the Health project, “Supporting Health Services in Ar-Raqqa and Deir-ez-Zor Governorates”. 

 

Project activities included the delivery of medical equipment, medication, and medical and laboratory consumables to Hajin Maternity Hospital in Deir-ez-Zor Governorate, the Intensive Care Unit (ICU) at Ar-Raqqa National Hospital, and seven Primary Health Care Centres (PHCCs) in seven communities in Ar-Raqqa Governorate, in addition to the delivery of services at all facilities.

 

These efforts ensure the delivery of uninterrupted essential health care services and improved access to health care, while enhancing the capacity and quality of the provided services.

 

A total of 19,696 patients were treated under this project, including 9,614 through surgical and non-surgical maternal and gynaecological services at Hajin Maternity Hospital, 9,801 through paediatric, gynaecological and internal maternal consultations and malnutrition screenings for pregnant and lactating women and children at the seven PHCCs and 281 at Ar-Raqqa ICU ward.

 

With a project of around EUR 470,000 and a duration period of three months, this project has aimed to address the gaps within the Health sector in the area, while improving the overall health conditions and well-being within communities.
