The SRTF Delivers the First wheat Mill in Support of the Food Security Sector in Syria

Gaziantep – Wednesday, 20 May 2015 – The SRTF Management Unit today delivered the first wheat mill to the Syrian Public Establishment for Grain (SPEG), the Implementing Entity of the SRTF “Storage and Milling Support for the National Wheat Programme” project. The delivery took place at a zero point on the Turkish-Syrian border.

With a daily capacity of 50 tons, the mill’s operations include a full chain of wheat milling process, from cleaning and wetting to milling and sifting then finally packing. This is the first of four mills which will be delivered sequentially to secure availability of flour for household use and bakeries.
