The SRTF Delivers Motorcycles and Accessories for a Solid Waste Management Project in Dar’a Governorate

Jordan – Sunday, 20 May 2018 - The SRTF Management Unit delivered seven motorcycles with accessories to the implementing entity of the SRTF “Solid Waste Management in Six Communities of Dar’a Governorate” project, today. The accessories include helmets, hand protection gear, tires, spare parts and maintanance tools.

The motorcycles will be used by the project staff under the supervision of the Waste Management Directorate of Dar’a Governorate in their movement to manage the project operations that include rubble and waste removal as well as rehabilitation and management of landfills. The delivery is part of several shipments planned or already carried out by the project, including containers for waste collection, collection vehicles for waste transportation, equipment for insecticides spraying, etc.

At a total cost of EUR 3.17 million, the project aims to improve the living conditions of the inhabitants of targeted areas in the Governorate by ensuring regular waste and rubble removal and prevention of the spread of diseases and as a result of the waste accumulation in inhabited and urban areas.
