The SRTF Delivers Insecticides Spraying Equipment to Dar’a Governorates

Jordan – Wednesday, 14 March 2018 - The SRTF Management Unit (MU) delivered insecticides spraying equipment to the Solid Waste Management Directorate of Dar’a Governorate today. The equipment will be used to combat the spread of diseases, such as cutaneous leishmaniasis and was procured from the local market in Syria under "the SRTF Solid Waste Management in Six Communities of the Liberated Areas of Dar’a Governorate project."

At a total cost of EUR 3.2 million, the project seeks to enhance the local capacity to restore the waste a rubble removal services in the targeted communities of the governorate and to address the pile up of waste and rubble resulting from the conflict.

The revival of the sector will help improve the hygiene and health standards significantly to the direct benefit of some 200,000 inhabitants of the six-targeted communities.
