The SRTF Delivers Medications and Health Care Consumables to Hospitals in Aleppo Governorate

Turkey – Friday, 7 October 2016 – The SRTF Management Unit today delivered two shipments of medications to the Free Aleppo Health Directorate and to a hospital in a city of the Aleppo Governorate. The first shipment consisted of 20 different types of primary health care medications. The second consisted of 4 different types of medications. The delivery took place at a zero point on the Turkish-Syrian borders in coordination with the Turkish authorities.


The fist shipment came under the SRTF “Support to the Health Services in Aleppo Governorate” project, which aims to achieve a significant improvement of the health care status of some 200,000 beneficiaries. The project is expected to provide three hospitals with their respective one-year needs of anesthesia drugs, provide primary healthcare centers (PHCCs) with their respective one-year needs of primary health care medications and provide two hemodialysis centers (HDs) with their respective one-year needs of consumable kits.


The second shipment took place under the SRTF “Support of Health Services at a Hospital in a city of the Aleppo Governorate” project. The project seeks to improve the health status of 10,000 beneficiaries by carrying out infrastructural works, installation of an electrical networks for an oxygen generation system, set up an Intensive Care Unit, establishment of gynecological operation rooms, infant incubators ward and a pediatric unit.
