The SRTF to Launch Its First Multi-Sectoral Area-Based Project in As-Sweida

Damascus - Wednesday, 31 December 2025 - The Syria Recovery Trust Fund (SRTF) is pleased to announce a new multi-sectoral area-based project in As-Sweida, “Sustainable Shelter and Infrastructure Recovery Interventions in As-Sweida – Phase I.”

The project aims to restore shelter for displaced families and improve access to essential services, living conditions, and resilience through an integrated, area-based approach that addresses critical gaps in shelter, WASH, and education. This will be achieved by rehabilitating 100 houses, restoring one school, and upgrading a water well to ensure an adequate supply of water to surrounding communities.

The SRTF Director General, Eng. Hani Khabbaz, stated: “We are proud to launch the first phase of our area-based, multi-sector intervention in As-Sweida. Through this project, the SRTF continues to expand its reach to communities in need, delivering sustainable, community-driven solutions that contribute meaningfully to Syria’s recovery. This intervention reflects our commitment to alignment with local priorities, strengthening resilience, and improving access to essential services.”
With a budget of EUR 489,115, the project is expected to directly benefit 3,382 individuals, and indirectly benefit thousands of community residents over an eight-month period, by supporting dignified returns, strengthening community resilience, and contributing to the sustainable restoration of essential services in areas in need.
