Rehabilitation of Three Water Pump Stations in Ar-Raqqa Governorate

As a result of the conflict, many communities in Northeast Syria (NES) do not have safe and reliable access to drinking and irrigation water.

In response to this growing issue, the SRTF approved the intervention, “Rehabilitation of Three Water Pump Stations in Ar-Raqqa Governorate”.

This intervention focuses on rehabilitating three water pump stations in Ar-Raqqa governorate. The implementing partner divided this intervention into four different activities:

  • Rehabilitation of a dilapidated water pump station
  • Construction of a new water pump station
  • Recovering full pumping capacity of a pump station’s eight boreholes
  • Recovering full pumping capacity of a pump station’s treated water pumping hall

To achieve this goal, the implementing partner will perform the following activities:

  • Procurement and installation of equipment to water infrastructures,
  • Rehabilitation of water infrastructures,
  • Operation and maintenance of water infrastructures, and
  • Provision of material, equipment, and technical support to ensure long-term operation of the water stations.

The rehabilitated water pump stations are expected to benefit around 207,536 beneficiaries. This intervention has a budget of EUR 1.7 million and an estimated six-month duration.
