Three SRTF Supported Medical Centers in Deir Ez-Zor Receive Medical Equipment and Furniture

Deir Ez-Zor- Thursday, November 25, 2021- The SRTF health intervention “Provision of Primary and Specialized medical Services in Deir Ez-Zor Governorate” received a new batch of medical equipment and furniture that was allocated to the blood bank, the central lab and the Thalassemia center that are supported under this intervention.

The delivery consisted of 80 medical equipment and 36 pieces of furniture to support the operations of the medical centers which will offer pediatric, internal medicine, reproductive health and labor related services, a nutrition clinic, mental health & psychological support, a dental clinic, a laboratory, and an emergency clinic to the direct benefit of around 119,028 beneficiaries. It is estimated that the blood bank will benefit 6,582 beneficiaries, in addition to 39,492 indirect beneficiaries while the Thalassemia Center will directly benefit 294 patients, in addition to 1,764 beneficiaries indirectly.

 

With a total budget of EUR 2.5 million and a duration of eight months, this intervention will focus on five main activities that address critical issues in the health sector in Deir Ez-Zor namely; the provision of primary healthcare services, supporting a medical laboratory supporting a blood bank, supporting the Thalassemia center, personal protective equipment (PPE) for schools. In total,  this intervention is expected to benefit around 202,124 people in addition to over one million beneficiaries in Deir Ez-Zor indirectly.
