An SRTF Health Intervention Launches Mobile Clinic Services in Deir Ez-Zor

Deir Ez-Zor- Wednesday, October 27, 2021- The SRTF stabilization intervention: “Provision of Primary and Specialized medical Services in Deir Ez-Zor Governorate” announced the launch of medical services through a mobile clinic to treat patients in different locations in the Northern countryside of Deir Ez-Zor Governorate.

 

The mobile clinic services are expected to serve around seven communities that might not be able to reach other health services facilities. The supported clinics will include midwifery managed by one midwife, general medicine managed by one GP and one nurse, nutrition services offered by a nutritionist and one community health worker, and psychological support - for a duration of six months. In addition, an administrative staff consisting of one nurse, one receptionist and one data-entry clerk will be providing support at the mobile clinic.

 

The intervention is on track with its progress and has already launched two primary healthcare centers (PHCC) this month offering pediatric, internal medicine, reproductive health and labor related services, a nutrition clinic, mental health & psychological support, a dental clinic, a laboratory, and an emergency clinic to the direct benefit of around 119,028 beneficiaries.

 

With a total budget of EUR 2.5 million and a duration of eight months, this intervention will focus on five main activities that address critical issues in the health sector in Deir Ez-Zor namely; the provision of primary healthcare services, supporting a medical laboratory supporting a blood bank, supporting the Thalassemia center, personal protective equipment (PPE) for schools this intervention is expected to benefit around 202,124 people in addition to over one million beneficiaries in Deir Ez-Zor indirectly.
