The SRTF delivers medical supplies for a hospital and other providers of health services in the Governorate of Aleppo

Gaziantep – Sunday, 23 August 2015 – The SRTF Management Unit has recently accomplished two major deliveries of medical supplies to public providers of health services in the north of Syria.

The first delivery, which consisted of six trucks carrying a large quantity of dialysis consumable sets, was received by Aleppo Health Directorate at a zero point on the Syrian-Turkish borders on 31 July and 1 August 2015. Enough for 10,300 dialysis sessions, the supplies will be distributed to two dialysis centers in the Aleppo Governorate. It is estimated that the new supplies will meet a one-year demand at the two centers. The shipment is part of the SRTF’s “Support to Health Service in Aleppo Governorate” project, which will directly benefit some 200,000 Syrians in the targeted area.

The second delivery was carried out by one truck loaded with primary health care medications and basic anesthesia drugs. It took place at a zero point on the Syrian-Turkish borders on 13 August 2015. The goods were delivered to the Implementing Entities of two SRTF projects, the above-mentioned “Support to Health Services in Aleppo Governorate” and the SRTF “Support for Health Services at a Hospital in a City in Aleppo Governorate” project. The latter’s activities include infrastructure rehabilitation works and supply of essential medications to meet the pressing health care needs of some 150,000 inhabitants for a period of six months.
