The SRTF Initiates Installation of a New CT-Scan Facility in a Hospital of Dar’a Governorate

Jordan – Tuesday, 1 May 2018 - The SRTF Management Unit (MU) delivered tools necessary for the installation of a new CT-Scan unit at a hospital in Dar’a Governorate today. The unit was delivered to the hospital a few months ago and civil works on the ward designated to host the unit were completed recently under the “Support for Health Services in Dar’a Governorate” project. The implementing entity (IE) of the project, the Health Directorate of Dar’a Governorate, which received the newly delivered tools is expecting to start the installation process shortly.

In preparation for installation of the unit, the MU has already provided technical training for the IE’s engineering staff on installation and maintenance of the CT-Scan facility to ensure the correct functioning of the unit and connected devices. The IE expects about 80% of patients of the targeted communities to be served by the new facility.

Worth approximately EUR 3.9 million, the project has already made a significant progress in rehabilitation of two hospitals in the governorate providing them with much needed medical equipment and supplies as well as oxygen generation, filling and distribution capacities. It aims at boosting the health sector enabling it to provide effective health care services to local communities and internally displaced people.
