The SRTF Delivers Safety Clothes for Waste Removal Workers in Dar'a Governorate

Jordan – Thursday, 30 November 2017 – The SRTF Management Unit (MU) delivered large quantities of safety clothes to the implementing entity of its “Solid Waste Management in Six Communities of Dar'a Governorate” project today. Purchased internally from the local market, the delivery included all weather suitable uniforms, overalls, rain coats, safety shoes, head hats, safety helmets, gloves, cotton masks, safety vests and safety Jackets.

Worth about EUR 3.2 million, the project aims to support targeted areas in combating the proliferation of diseases resulting from waste accumulation caused by the regime’s suspension of waste removal and sanitation services in opposition held areas.  Over 50,000 people will directly benefit from the improved public health, reduced environmental pollution and increased job opportunities that the project is bringing about in the targeted areas.
