The SRTF Delivers 350 Barrels of Transformer Oil for an Electricity Grid in Aleppo Governorate

Gaziantep – Wednesday, 23 November 2016 – The SRTF procured and delivered 350 barrels of transformer oil to the implementing entity (IE) of its “Rehabilitation and Maintenance of High Voltage Grid in Selected Areas of Aleppo Governorate” project today. The delivery took place at a zero point on the Turkish-Syrian border in coordination with the Turkish authorities.

The project seeks to maintain and ensure a continued functioning of 10 high voltage sub-stations, preventing breakdowns of transformers or their running out of fuel. Such a breakdown would ultimately result in a widespread and extended power disruption with serious consequences for the local population and public institutions. At a total cost of approximately EUR 3.5 million, the project is benefiting over 2 million people in the governorate.
