The SRTF Delivers Nine Tractors and One Harvester to Ar-Raqqa Governorate

Ar-Raqqa - Tuesday, 21 May 2019 - The SRTF announced further deliveries under the its “Agriculture Support to Farmers – Phase II” project today. Nine tractors and one harvester were delivered in the presence of the SRTF general director, Eng. Hani Khabbaz who witnessed the inspection and delivery process on location.


The SRTF Director General expressed his thanks to all parties involved in today’s delivery for their commitment and hard work and said: "the SRTF’s support to the agricultural sector in Ar-Raqqa Governorate provides a comprehensive package that can support the resumption of local agricultural activities, markets, and economies in communities recovering from the Daesh.”

 

In addition to the procurement and supply of agricultural consumables and heavy machinery and accessories, this project will execute repairs to the main irrigation canal. Worth EUR 6.3 million, phase II is the second of a three-phase plan to support farmers in four communities in Ar-Raqqa Governorate with the agricultural inputs required to cultivate up to 4,300 hectares benefiting over 1,000 local farmers, their households and associated workers living in areas liberated from Daesh.
