Jordan – Thursday, 15 February 2018 – The SRTF Management Committee (MC) has decided to increase the budget allocations for the SRTF “Filling the Void” project by about EUR 2.6 million bringing the total amount of its budget up to approximately EUR 5.6 million. Announcing the decision today, the SRTF Management Unit (MU) welcomed the new development as the right step to contribute effectively to stabilization efforts in areas liberated from extremist groups in Syria.

The SRTF “Filling the Void” project represents a rapid response to the pressing needs of civil society in recently liberated areas, providing essential support for infrastructure repairs, equipment supplies and restoration of public services.

Commenting the MC decision, Eng. Hani Khabbaz, Director-General, said: “It will enable MU to accelerate delivery of much needed supplies and logistical support for the recovery of infrastructure and services.” He added: “SRTF will thereby contribute effectively to stabilization efforts for projects in targeted areas.”
