The SRTF Announces the Delivery of Three Ambulances to Ar-Raqqa Governorate

Ar-Raqqa – Friday, 17 May 2019 - The SRTF Management Unit announced the delivery of three ambulances with their accessories as part of its: “Provision of PHC Services and Clean Water Supply for Rural Communities – Phase I” in Ar-Raqqa Governorate today.

 

The project is the SRTF’s first to address Health and WASH services for residents of three rural communities in Ar-Raqqa Governorate. The delivery of the ambulances will enhance the capacities of the emergency response system and address the needs of emergency cases ensuring that the most vulnerable patients receive adequate transport and care in the target communities.

 

The SRTF Director General, Eng. Hani Khabbaz hailed this update and said: “the restoration of WASH and Health services is essential to meeting the needs of residents of Ar-Raqqa governorate and compliments the SRTF’s on-going agriculture support to farmers in the same area which should all serve to help Ar-Raqqa community as they rebuild their life after Daesh.”

 

Worth EUR 2.9 million, the intervention is part of SRTF’s “Filling the Void” stabilization programme. The assistance will benefit beneficiaries in Ar-Raqqa Governorate.  The intervention will benefit 2,000 households in the targeted area, increasing health and WASH services to the civilians recovering from the destruction caused during the conflict with Daesh.
