The deliveries took place at zero points on the Jordanian-Syrian border on 23 June and the Turkish-Syrian border on 30 June in coordination with the Jordanian and Turkish authorities.

The deliveries included 300,000 flour sacks, 32,000 hessian sacks, 1,000 rolls of PE sheets of different sizes, 750 rolls of HDPE covers and 1500 rolls of straps (150mt each).

The projects aim to address current food insecurity situation in all four governorates. They will also allow the IE, SPEG, to secure and protect the stocks of wheat, which it had bought from local farmers, against external influences such as rains or humidity.

Overall, the projects are expected to strengthen SPEGs operational capacity to improve and sustain food security within the moderate opposition held areas, maintain availability and low pricing of bread and prevent any attempts to hoard inputs required by the bakeries to secure production of bread at stable and affordable prices.
